М.В. Blue Marlin: Корабль, который возит корабли
В начале февраля мы были в Гоа, и катались на морскую рыбалку.Вот кино, и на второй минуте есть картинка этой морской загадки
И там я увидела необыкновенный корабль: громадный и очень странных очертаний. Он был почти на горизонте, и озадачил меня несказанно. И вот, повинуясь моим внутренним законам, Вселенная подсунула разгадку этому таинственному кораблю: это "М.В. Blue Marlin" - корабль, который возит корабли

КЛАСС ПОЛУПОГРУЖАЕМЫХ СУДОВ
В 1998 году немецкая компания «Dockwise Shipping» стала организацией по перевозке необычных заказов. Её помощниками стали большие корабли перевозящие грузы стоимостью во много миллионов долларов. Для сверхтяжелых грузов «Mighty Servant 1» и «Mighty Servant 3», для яхт «Mighty Servant 2» и «Mighty Servant 4», для других не менее сложных работ «Blue Marlin», «Black Marlin», «Transshelf» и другие. Это класс полупогружаемых судов построен на верфи «Kaohsiung» в Китае.
У таких морских судов достаточно узкая специализация. Полупогружные транспортные суда предназначены для перемещения крупногабаритных, чрезвычайно тяжелых грузов, таких как, секции морских платформ и нефтяных платформ, подводные лодки, краны, суда, причалы и т. п. Причем погрузку и разгрузку обеспечивают самостоятельно, без дополнительных кранов.
Это суда типа FLO/FLO (Float-on/Float-off). Что это значит? Когда на транспортное судно необходимо погрузить какой-то негабаритный груз, сначала через 16 кингстонов балластные цистерны заполняют забортной водой и судно погружается на глубину до 26 метров. На это необходимо около 12 часов, а за это время в танки заливается до 77000 тонн воды. После стабилизации морского судна, начинается погрузка.

Морское судно построено из плотных материалов и имеет очень прочный корпус, который позволяет совершать океанские переходы.

Так одним из предложений стало перевозка яхт, в основном из Средиземного моря в различные порты мира. На сегодняшний день переоборудовано четыре судна, которые перевозят около 750 «дорогих игрушек» в год. Стоимость доставки яхты из Великобритании в Карибское море составляет 7500 долларов.
После проведенных усовершенствований, судно «Blue Marlin» провело доставку нефтяной платформы «Thunder Horse PDQ» весом 60000 тонн, в Корпус-Кристи

В ноябре 2005 года судно «Blue Marlin» вышло из порта Корпус-Кристи, штат Техас, для перемещения радара морского базирования Х-диапазона в Адак, Аляска, через южную оконечность Южной Америки и Перл-Харбор, Гавайи. Судно прибыло в Перл-Харборе 9 января 2006 года, пройдя 15 000 миль.
